In Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3 of this tutorial, I have presented the basics of Complex MVA Method calculation of short circuit current.

Note: Use this calculations to combine complex MVAs.

    Hi Ver,
    I’m very interested in your work. Thanks for sharing your know how!
    In this case I have problems to follow your calculations in this sheet.
    For example the 11kV Motor contributes 17.6 MVA, but from the busbar is only 18.1MVA coming down? In my opinion the sum of the up- and downstream values at each point you have marked at the 11 kV busbar should be the same.
    Can you please explain.
